WHY IS CONGRESS AND THE PRESIDENT PUSHING HARD TO BAND THE NUMBER OF BULLETS IN A CLIP(MAGAZINE) ITS NOT THE GUNS OR THE BULLETS THAT R KILLING OUR AMERICAN CITIZENS ITS THE WACKOS THAT COULD BUY THEM OFF THE STREET IN ANY CITY OR TOWN, AND THE GUN SPORTSMEN THAT R GETTING SCREWED BECAUSE OF IT. THEY COULD BAN ALL GUNS IN THE USA AND THE WHACKED OUT PEOPLE WILL STILL GET WHAT THEY NEED ON THE STREETS AND THEN WE WOULD HAVE NOTHING TO DEFEND OURSELVES????

GUN CONTROL RUNNING OUT OF OUR  RIGHTS AND INTO THE CRAZY PEOPLE WHO COULD BUY A GUN, BULLETS, RIGHT DOWN MOST STREET IN MAJOR CITY'S AND SOME TOWNS!!!!    WHY

Det jmk, A lot of those mass killings-- like at the elementary school,or at the movie theater, wouldn' have happened if the gun wasn't there. They buy them and many rounds of ammo on the internet, or at K mart.

once the population has had easy access to firearms this type of legislation is meaningless and unenforceable.one bullet in a clip is enough to kill.

Like Barney Fife had one bullet in his pocket, but never used it.
Seriously, bowlsley, one bullet is only enough to kill, if you're a good aim.....like Lee Harvey Oswald was.
And Remember, your target is going to be moving. That's why these pubilc massacres are done by military style automatics.....b/c you don't have to be a good aim.You just spray bullets like a lawn sprinker.

I heard a good one: make the shots cost “X” amount of dollars per bullet. No more innocent bystanders………..

How about toughening up the penalty for mere posession. Say, 10 years of hard labor with no chance of parole. Think THAT may deter a few "tough guys" ?

Hard labor is not allowed in the states. It infringes on the rights of the convicted.

I believe that it is. I'm not refering to hazardous work, just "hard" physical, manual labor that will keep them occupied for a very long period of time. Most of these criminals never worked an honest day's work in their lives. The key word here is longevity (say,10 years), not cruel and unusual punishment.

They can work or not work. They have the right to say no to labor and they must be paid to work. Most all of our prisons are privatized now and must follow federal mandates concerning prisoner rights.
