Hosea 4:6, universally the most misquoted (or perhaps partially quoted) scripture in all of Christendom. It begins with the statement, “My people perish for lack of knowledge…”

    goodlife

No,it because of Israel’s unfaithfulness God had forewarned them of this by his prophet Hosea centuries before, saying: “Because the knowledge is what you yourself have rejected, I shall also reject you from serving as a priest to me; and because you keep forgetting the law of your God, I shall forget your sons, even I.” (Ho 4:6) Correspondingly, and Jesus said of the Jewish leaders: “The kingdom of God will be taken from you and be given to a nation producing its fruits.” (Mt 21:43)

My Jewish  teacher used to say "My people thirst for lack of knowledge"

My people perish for a lack of knowledge is a verse from Hosea 4:6
