Is it a self threading handle or does it use a screw to keep it tight?

Self threading, wrap some plumber's tape around the stem it threads to.

Screw- If it's the screw that comes loose, get some loctite and dab the screw end then thread it in.

The facet has a screw that becomes loose. I will try the loctite. Thanks for your help.

Just use a small amount. You may need to remove the screw at some point. Lowes or Home Depot carries it.
