    historectomy issues....thinning tissue, pain and dryness during intercourse. suggestions?

    Yes, I had those problems.....b/c of a hysterectomy. It's embarrassing to bring it out in a puplic forum, but I'm telling you about it to help you,. First of all, they sew up your vagina at the end, so it's a little shorter. Secondly, if you had radiation down there, it could make those tissues thin, easily irritated and bleed a little . If you were given hormones afterward, they might have affected you. Or the hyst might have ushered you into early menopause which could cause the dryness, thinning tissue, and pain .. Check with your GYN to see if you have an infection or whatever.

    How long ago was your hysterectomy? Was it a full hysterectomy or a partial?
