    Literature? It's as simple as this. Code Enforcement officers enforce the codes as set down by law within the State and/or county/township they are hired to enforce the codes in. Their power is to deny permits if the codes are not met by the builder or building owner. They also have the authority to condemn a property that is dangerously out of code.
