    It could be related to a kidney problem. Please see your doctor.

    This can mean you're having dry lips; either due to weather, or health issues.

    Salty Taste in Mouth – Symptoms



    • Salt may be accompanied by mouth metallic soap or bitter taste and can be extremely unpleasant.

    • Salty flavor more pronounced in the back of the mouth and throat can speak post nasal drip, GERD, respiratory infection, throat cancer.

    • Salty taste on the tip of the tongue and lips can speak on behalf of gingivitis or tooth problems.

    • Limited to or more pronounced on one side salty taste may be due to a disorder of the parotid gland, the problem of the teeth, ear infection, paralysis, Bell trigeminal neuralgia, herpes zoster (rash on the same side).
