A couple of times when I have fallen, it was my fault. Would that be at all possible in your case? Were you walking too fast, not watching where you were going, wearing ill fitting footwear, wearing boots without good grips? People fall everyday. Most do not try to find an excuse to sue someone.

You cannot be successful if they don't get up; you've already fallen, and it's too late.. You might be successful if you were walking on the sidewalk and the sidewalk wasn't appropriately cleared in a certain amount of time

What if the people that live in this house are old and unable to____ what ever you are reffering to. If you fell and busted your lip, don't you think perhaps some of the blame is yours because you didn't watch where you were going?

They should have home owner’s insurance. If it cost you a lot of money to fix your lip, I think their insurance might pay. However, since it’s apparently on the sidewalk in front of their house I don’t know,  Let us know.
