    Yes. The brain itself has no pain receptors. This is why people can/could be awake during brain surgery. 

    No brain,No pain so they say.It's true.They wanted to drill a hole in our daughter's head & tamper with her brain a couple of years ago.They said they would give her a local anesthitic because she wouldn't feel anything & she would be wide awake during the operation.We wouldn't let them do it of course.It all sounded a bit experimental to me.
