What must I do to mount a 64-66 Chevy truck 12 bolt 8.785" rear end in a 1955 Chevy 2nd series 3100 Pickup?

My '55 has leaf springs.  The '64-'66 12 bolt I have spotted they saidhas LEAF springs.  They also said 8.875", I believe they meant 8.785" ring gear and 3.42 ratio, BUT with Drum Brakes.  I do not know the width of the 12 bolt rear.  My '55 lists as 60" mounting plate to mounting plate, but I also find it listed as 62" (without designation from what to what)..  I am 73, so can't make this a multi-year project!   Thank you all.  Murf
