whenever I have opened a new email account it tells me to enter the name (example: doodoolittle) and then confirm it (write doodoolittle again) and then enter the password (example iluvanimals) and repeat that (or confirm that) iluvanimals again.  Sometimes they will ask for a second address incase something happens on the site they can send your emails on to the other address or notify you of the problem.  However, it isn't necessary to have one.  Try hotmail, yahoomail, or gmail for free emails.

 I do not understand why you need to confirm an e-mail address change through your old e-mail address. You may need to click support or help on the site you are trying to do this through and ask them what to do.
