I would quote for 23 gallons of paint for 1 coat assuming I was buying the paint in 1 gallon cans.Far more economical to buy the paint in 5 gallon drums which would mean I would be purchasing 25 gallons,allowing 2 gallons for ullage & wastage.This of course has nothing to do with your home work question.So yor answer is 23.Add the rest as a footnote.Your teacher may be impressed with your research & allow you extra marks for it.:)

600 x 8 = 4800 square feet of fencing 

600/12 = 50 windows

2 x 2 = 4 square foot per window    x 50 = 200 square feet of window

4800 = 200 = 4600 square feet of fence to paint.

4600/200 ( 1 gallon paint)= 23 gallons of paint.  Pick a pretty color.
