    what to do with fingernail that has been slammed in car door 2 months ago and now is lifting off from cuticle area and is getting hooked on everything

    I slammed my finger in car door 2 months ago and it is black and blue. Now it is lifting off my finger from the cuticle area but the side are sill attached. It is disgusting cuz it is getting caught on everything. I tryed the pull it off but it won't come off, and i am not sure if there is a new nail under it yet. What should i do with it.

      Nothing you can do except wait. Try trimming the nail as close as you can....don't pull it off...it will be very sore.  Try keeping it covered with a band-aid, while it's growing out.
