your dimmer switch is more than likely to be your problem , how you mat to to replace the bulbs.You can try taking a jumper that has allegator clips on each ends attach one to the battery or any possitive voltage source , attach a safty or straigt pin to other end then probe the 2 poss.wires of the head ligth connector. if you get a brigter light from either one of the wires install your switch between the source of power to connector wire.
