I wouldn't advise it, but if your contact lens solution simply has saline ( salt water ) in the bottle, you're just going to get dehydrated . And if the saline has preservatives in it, you could get sick.One of the preservatives is Thimerisol, which is mercury.'Course they put preservatives in the processed food we eat. If it's the stuff you put your lens in overnight, you could get sick.

a kid just got into big legal trouble cuz he put saline solution (found in contact solution) in his teachers coffee. It hospitalized the teacher.
