    can i collect uic benifits if i am in jail doing time

    applied for health problems need hip trplacement want to know if and how to get uic benifits to pay my child support

    uHHHHH NO... no benefits are collected at any time while one is incarcinated. and no they do not pay your child support.   Once you go to jail for anything any and all benefits are cut off.  If you need the hip replaced you need to stay out of jail.  Child Support is your responsibility.  the only benefit that will pay that is SSD   and unless you are totally disabled you are not going to get that... and again that does not pay for anyone when they are in jail.   You need to get out of jail.... legally of course.... and get your act together if you want to have any kind of health or assistance.   Sorry but get moving on getting out and remember it can take up to 6 years   (sometimes more) to get your benefits.. in the mean time..............you get nothing then either .)..
