You need to have inputs on the back of the color tv. there should be some RCA cables jacks that will connect the video cable (normally yellow) and some red and white ones for sound.
There is two different cable setups for the Wii. The standard cable connects video out to the yellow plug on the back of your tv. The R G B (red green blue) high definition cable is an optional cable that you may have purchased. This connects to the R G B inputs on the back of your high definition TV. Some newer TV's don't have a yellow input, only RGB's. The yellow cable from the Wii goes into one of the RGB inputs. I can't remember which one, but if you plug it into the wrong one you will only get black and white, so try the others.
