    How to use atrophy in a compound sentence?

    Try:-The doctor is concerned about possible atrophy of the shoulder muscles.

    That will not work as it does not join two sentences into one.

    Works for me, compound sentences can be fractured.

    I find nothing on fractured sentences. What is a fractured sentence? To me it would mean the use of a comma or semicolon which is used when joining two sentences together.
