The new, blue Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar is mostly identical to its predecessors, link sharing an identical ultra-thin self-winding movement (caliber 5134) and case profile (41mm × link 9.5mm), with the only major updates coming in the form of the high-tech blue ceramic case and the matching blue color of the grande tapisserie dial. But given how link coveted the black and white ceramic Royal Oak Perpetual Calendars have become, this one still rates as a big deal.

With G-SHOCK turning 40 this year 2023 has been a massive year link for the original tough watch and they've been churning out celebratory limited link edition makes of their most popular models excuse the pun like clockwork. Remaining well under the imaginary 1500 budget I'm going with the recently released full-metal anniversary edition of the brand's link heritage DW-5000 model that kicked the brand off to a running start in 1983.
