Your water tank? Do you mean water pump? Water pumps do not have linkage. Please speak to a professional mechanic as it's clear you do not really know what your car needs. 

So, back to the water pump as cars do not have water tanks.....is the water pump leaking? If so, yes, you need a new one. 

If you mean the radiator, yes, you need a new one.

If you have a linkage from your fuel tank it makes sense to buy a new tank.
