      There are 8 major planets in our solar system.There were 9 planets which included Pluto too.International Astronomical Union decided that Pluto is no longer a planet , it is a dwarf planet.There are 5 dwarf planets.


      Planets from 2006 to present (8) :


      Mercury Venus Earth Mars Jupiter Saturn Uranus Neptune


      Dwarf planets from 2006 to present (5) :


      Ceres ,Pluto ,Makemake ,Haumea ,Eris.

        I really dont know anymore, seems to be changing everyonce and a while. Seems astronomers cant make up their mind.

          There are eight planets in our solar system (as of 2006 Pluto is defined as a dwarf comet, and not as a planet).
