No one knows the date of his birth. Some guess springtime because of the connection of lambs and the fact lambs are born in the spring. Also shepherds do not tend flocks in the field in the winter months. 

We started counting  years after he died so say, 2012. Now add 30 years, that's how old he was when he died and you should come up with when he was born.....

some espistles say that his actual birth was in the spring; and that the Romans made the jews and new Christians follow the Roman holiday, which was in December. Thus, they celebrated Jesus's birth in Dec.......to make the Romans happy.
