You have to enable the camera, usually by turning it on int he bios, or a combination of the Fn and one of the F1-F12 keys.

Let me elaborate:

Int he system bios, before your computer boots up hold down on the set key probably f2 for f3. in here you will have to do some exploring. don't worry, it is difficult to mess anythign up seriously on our computers now adays.

Look for the option labled hardware or periferals. there should be a list of hard ware with enable disbale options to to them. you will see your card reader, usb ports, wifi, blue toth if oyu have it, aand in there you will find the camera. make sure it is enabled, then save the bios and boot into windows as normal.

If you can't figure this out, then in windows, look at your keyboard. find the Fn key, it is usually located in the bottom left hand corner next to the ctrl and windows button.

Now while holding the Fn key look at your F1-F12 keys towards the top of the keyboard. you might have one that turns the camera on and off. it is in combination.

If your webcam is turned on, you will see an icon for it in my computer under the "other divces" it will be easy to notice.
