The raigneing monach, if she is a queen has a prince concort. If she were to die and her husbent was a king, the next in line to the throne, ie Prince Charles becomes King so therefore yould have 2 Kings (not recomended) whereas if a femail marries a king she becomes a Queen. If the king were to die the next in line becomes King or Queen, and the mother of the new King or Queen becomes the Kind/Queen mother. You can't have a King father over a King.

because the monarch has to be a direct descendant of the previous monarch and Philip isn't so Plizabeth became queen and as Philip is only related by marriage he becomes a Prince
