There is a Settings function. The icon looks like a hammer and wrench, if the text is german or whatever and you can't read it. When I press settings, it brings up a list. The first is wireless and networks, 2nd is sound, 3rd is location, 4th is applications, 5th is privacy, 6th is SD card, 7 is search, 8th is language and keyboard. The icon looks like a letter 'A' in a white background.
Taking the Language setting, it brings up another list. The first is Select Locale. I take that and it brings up a list of languages. You should be able to recognize the English settings. There's a separate one for each of a number of English speaking countries.
