Best to take a French speaker with you, either a bilingual Brit or a bilingual French person.

person to notice this, they are so unfriendly . and my french isn't bad,but they make no effort to try and understand. It makes going in there to ask for help very
off-putting, but I shall take your advice and make my presence felt, because, needs must. I need someone to take me shopping on a regular basis. I shall practice my best 'francaise' when I do. My Liverpudlian accent doesn't do me any favours. LOL
