I can’t do anything with it so I tried a curler. What do you think?…I already know I can’t improve on perfection, but really…is that pretty or what?

I think a ribbon would have given it that really special stand out look. :)

    Ever tried straighteners rg?
    LOL
    Dardaigh

It's fab...you could be on the cutting edge of a new trend here, Bob! :D
    mycatsmom

Is that your real hair on top, Robert? How can it be so dark, when the rest of your hair is gray. ?
    Bob/PKB

    You're cute.
    robertgrist

Thank Ya’ll , yes it is my own hair…what’s remaining, now that my hair is gradually falling out and/or turning white. But freckles are dark by fall and nearly vanish by spring and my nose swells up in winter and shrinks in summer. At least I don,t look like this all year and my natural appearance….. is more like the second photo. and again thank ya’ll.
    ROMOS

    Well, that's a blessing I s'pose?
    Dardaigh

Yoicks...those look like sad puppy dog eyes.
    ROMOS

I think you're eating the wrong foods rg!

    ROMOS

Similar to this in 1978, I was still in the Royal Navy, boy did I take some slagging.

    doolittle

slagging? Dude you were one styling guy!
    doolittle

I bet they all remember you!
    ROMOS

Get a Christmas card from my Commanding Officer every year.
    :-)
    doolittle

    That's very nice!
    ROMOS

    Ye think?
I've had 4 addresses since leaving the Navy, I always receive a card.
    Go figure?
    doolittle

well ok...he is part of the RN that might give him "Big Brother" status in tracking you down...but Wow to send you an X-mas card! keep in touch with anyone else from your Navy days?
    ROMOS

Not really, although there is one guy lives round the corner from me, but he's rarely sober.......etc.
    :-(

Guess I cut it really, really short and dyed it red......

The craziest thing I've done with my hair was to grow it long. It is very curly and I looked like a wild bush. Very non conservative.

There was a brief period of time where I would use the blow dryer and not comb or brush it, just let it be however, and go to work (got a lot of compliments, oddly enough).
Sometimes, I'll twist it and put an "alligator" type clip to hold it in place.  When I take it out, it looks kinda cool, wavy.  My hair is fine and poker straight.

    mycatsmom

PKB....my too, is fine and poker straight.....as was my mom's and her sisters hair. I get perms . It makes is look thicker. If I don't have a perm, my hair pops right off a roller,or the curling iron. Does yours too ?
    Bob/PKB

During my 30-40's, I got perms. Now that I color my hair, a perm would be too much product, and I'm not a very stylish person. I just have it straight, past my shoulders. Very plain.
    millie111

    Stylish,Bob..You are Very stylish!:-)

When I was about 13 I went really bizarre for a time & parted it on the opposite side. This was too much for my dad & he forced me to have a crew cut. Then I just stuck to the crew cut except for a brief period when I got out of the army & grew it really long with sideburns. It was almost touching my ears.

    ROMOS

    Extreme man, extreme.

What when I had some, that was a long time ago.

In the late 60's, I looked like many guys, like the 5th Beetle.  Now I look like an old balding guy from the Simpsons...

    ROMOS

Homer only has two on top!
    Not that bad, surely?
    bustieone

No, I have grey sidewalls, like a dirty old worn Cadillac wide-whitewall tire! On the top, is a "field of fuzz that needs fertilizing"! This is like a vacant lot, in much need of reseeding!!
    ROMOS

    LMAO.
    Tommyh

My dad used to say "You can't grow grass on a busy street".
    bustieone

Having taught high school, and being bald, you can imagine that I have used them all! My fav is to tell a teenage boy "there is a male hormone called testosterone, it is used for growing hair, and controls the male sex drive. Go ahead, waste yours on growing hair if you want!" They never knew what to say, and I think they wished themselves bald on the spot!

I let my hair dresser talk me into highlighting it. I freaked when I saw the final results. She did not highlight it, she dyed it blond, a really light blond. I made her change it back immediately. I'll never listen to a hair dresser again.

    Dardaigh

Oh c'mon back to the light side...ha ha ha! :D
    Dardaigh

Okay...more hair colour for me. :P

Short like Annie Lennox in the 80s.

LET THE ARMY CUT MY HAIR WHICH WAS SIMILAR TO ROBERT PLANTS IE. LED ZEPPELIN

    Dardaigh

Nice!!!! His hair was gorgeous. :P

Being a brunette all my life i felt like a change, so about 10 years ago i tried to go platinum blonde, BIG mistake, the process took about 6 lots of bleach, in the end my hair could not take it and died.I was left with a number 1 cut all over, and a burnt scalp.

    ROMOS

    OUCH!!
    mycatsmom

I'm a brunette too. You're supposed to lighten it a little bit at a time....take it up a notch everytime you get it colored.

well the craziest thing i've done to my hair is dyed it every single color, made it into an afro, and tied it upside-down like a crazy rockstar because at my skewl it was rockstar day

    Bob/PKB

    "skewl"? Really?

    blond it

Um, I too was talked into highlights- I looked like a tiger!  It was both awful and awfully funny!  They had to fix it the next day!!! (my cat, dog, and gunea pig were scared of me :(  )

    Dardaigh

I forgot about an Afro perm I got in the 70s...now that was scary. Went home and washed it out.
    doolittle

Oh man I had a poodle perm once!
    mycatsmom

Dar, I got the afro perm too, in the 70s. I even got something like a Geri-curl in the 80s, and I'm white. LOL
    Dardaigh

Wow, amazing what we do to ourselves, in the name of fashion. Even guys were getting perms back then.

i tried to cut my own air didnt end well dont do it

My Dad took it upon himself to trim my fringe when I was about six...he did it as a surprise for my Mum,who needless to say was out at the time!...It nearly cost him his marriage!...And an expensive trip to the hair salon to try and right it!:-)

Most of my life I have long hair, and very thick and  curly that caused me grief with my Mom trying to brush it before going to school. One day, home alone I cut my hair to just above my shoulders,( that was a mess as you can guess) I wanted to thin it out also, and came up with the plan, to take the top lair of my hair, clipped it up , and cut off the rest under neath. When I let the top lair of hair down, it was standing out so far from my neck, I though I did a great job, My poor Mom nearly died when she saw, what I had done, My Dad wanted to kill me. In the end my Mom had to cut the outer lair of hair, make it all short. If I had my time over again, I would never  have had my hair cut, at that time, I was able to sit on it.
