Is there a release button for trash compactors
Compactor is stuck in closed position. I heard clump while trash compactor was operating, I turned it off and stepped on the lever to open the compactor, but it only released it for an inch or two... similar to when the "extra pac" button is pressed. I can press extra pac and normal and the red dot moves... pressing "lock " does nothing. I have a Kenmore Compactor purchased in 2008
