It could be the water pump. You will know soon when you loss all your coolant when the water pump lets go. TAKE YOUR CAR TO A MECHANIC! Why guess?

I would check the serpentine belt idler pulley, as well
Thank you for your answer, The vehichle does not belong to me and I really haven't had a chance to take a close look in the daylight but I did notice a small amount of water on the front cover at night. may have more questions once I get to diagnose a little futher Thanks again
