You can try a public library. Just ask the librarian for assistance. Or most major newspapers have what they call a "morgue" for darn near every date there is and some have this info available to the general public. Call for info as some will let you come in, some will assist you over the phone and some will tell you to go to the library! (I worked for the Chicago Tribune for years and their "morgue" was amazing to go into!)
