I could not find anything about removing the chrome trim. Just how to remove the windshield. 

Instructions

Locate the retaining nuts on top of each windshield wiper base. Remove these retaining nuts using an adjustable wrench. Pull up on the wipers to remove and set the wipers and retaining nuts aside.

Put on work gloves. Take a pry tool and pry off the rubber seal. A pry tool is used for the specific purpose of removing the rubber seal from a windshield. This tool can be purchased at most auto parts stores. Pull the rubber seal off of the windshield with your hands once it has been loosened with the pry tool. Throw away or recycle the rubber seal.

Thread the windshield wire through the urethane and run it around the perimeter of the windshield to break the urethane seal. Push out the Chevy's windshield from inside the truck.

Go outside of the Chevy and remove the windshield from the front. Salvage or discard the windshield.

Scratch off the urethane bead from the Chevy truck's windshield opening using a utility knife. You can leave some of it there, but try to remove most of it.
