What could cause severe chest pain for the last 6 weeks?
I'm having lots of pain in the middle of my chest, plus the top of my stomach where a person would have a hiatal hernia and in the middle of my back. I've had hiatal hernias in the past and had surgery and the doctors put in a screen. Could a hernia be causing the chest pain?

It could be so many things.
Gallbladder comes to mind, too.

Me too but the pain was up in that area for me.
Don't mess around with chest pains, though.

Get to the E R as soon as possible ! Any chest pain, especially severe chest pain that goes thru to your back,and lingers, HAS to be treated as a heart attack. That doesn't mean you're having a heart attack, it just means you have to be treated as one untill they determine what it is.
