Hepatitis B can be of two forms: acute and chronic. The acute form doesn't require much treatment: patients are guided to do follow-up blood tests in order to make sure that the virus is gone, after a period in which their immune systems fight it. The chronic form require anti-viral drugs use in order to slow possible liver damages. In severe cases, when there is a significant liver damage, liver transplant is performed.
