If you are looking for the policies concerning lead paint abatement, contact a contractor in your area. Each state has similar policies concerning renting properties that date prior to the 70's, in which lead paint was used. Landlords have responsibilities of informing tenants if the apartment has lead paint. In RI, they cannot be rented to families with children under a certain age, unless there is proof of lead abatement. Landlords must be trained in lead paint awareness, and pass a test concerning lead paint, if they are legally renting older properties.
