Evonne Goolagong Cawley, born in Barrellan, a small town near Griffith NSW, she now coaches and provides opportunity for for indigenous tennis players between the ages of 10 to 21 at the Goolagong National Development camp at the Rod Laver arena, home of the Australian open tennis championship.
Evonne was first given the opportunity to play tennis when she was spotted peering through a fence at the court in her small home town by a kind resident, who encouraged her to play.
