    why does my 7 month old kitten follow me everywhere

    She won't let me out of her sight.  When she is sleeping and I leave the room, she wakes up and sleepily follows me.  I feel bad -- why is doing this?  She has been doing this since I got her as a 2 month old kitten.

      I had a cat who never let me out of her sight. I also received her when she was older.  I just thought it was cute.

        She is bonded to you.


        She could also be lonely.


        Maybe get a second cat.

            she thinks  you're her mother. My cats still insist on being in whatever room I'm in, and they're 11 and 12, and  4 yrs old.

              exactly...I can't be anywhere in the house unless 1 of my cats is right there with me. Usually all of them!!!

              She loves you , and she thinks you are her mother. Our female cat follows my wife everywhere and our male follows me , even when I go out in the car he follows me out and sits and watches me go, and usually when I return he comes running down the garden to meet me, yes it's love .

                Same here, Sunny. My cat always used to come running to greet me when I returned home. :)
