    if i am seperated and i sue someone else in a lawsuit and i recover an amount of money, is my soon to be ex spouse entitled to any of the money, if it has nothing to do with him?

    Each state has it's own laws concerning marriage assets. Check your state laws or check with a divorce attorney. For now, you are still married so if you live in a 50/50 state, then yes, he would be entitled to part of the money as it would be considered marital assets. If he won the lotto, I'm sure you'd want part of his winnings because you are married to him even though you had no part in buying the ticket. 

    Sounds like it, hope it is not a big case, otherwise, you are giving quite a divorce severance package!
