      I think it was the attack on their naval base at Pearl Harbour which bought them into it in the end. Most of us in the UK are glad they did, we would never have won the war without them .

        The bombing of Pearl harbour forced the Americans to enter World War Two, as Sunny said the allies could not do without them especially the Defence of Australia.
