    My cooker is below heat and unreliable

    Maybe it's time for an update.

    Does this mean your stove, or a slow cooker?  If it is the stove, is the the oven, or burners.  If the oven, it probably needs a thermostat (can be replaced, easily).  If it is the burners, electric, they can be replaced easily.  If a gas stove, the burners do get debris, from stuff boiling over, and can be removed and washed in ammonia and dish detergent.  If needed, take a small wire, and clear the gas ports which may be crusted over.  Rinse and dry, and they should work as new!   If it is a slow cooker, crock pot thing, throw it away and buy a new one.  they are sealed and not meant to repair.
