I have a King 16 inch scroll saw model # 8320 . I haven't used it in years but it used to work beautifully. I took it out last week to use it again and now it is breaking blades constantly. I have broken 25 blades in the last couple of weeks and I ended up using my jig saw to cut out the craft I was working on. Why is this happening?

I had this problum many beers ago and after several plastic surgeries ago I put a sign up in one inch letters that reeds have one be carefull open two the main breaker go's to the off position.I share this because I stoped breaking blades 20 yrs ago it sounds loke you need to be schooled in the use of the right blade for each aplication...now the short list your pushing and turning too fast scrool work takes skill ..I bet you have burn marks and it smells like your trying to start a camp fire in boy scouts,,RIGHT? and if your just tired of your scrool work is depressing you step up to a band saw I have several and the blades width of 3/16 th to 5/8 it sounds like your little saw is just over worked ,,make sure the tention on the blade is set right and if your working with a hard wood the better the wood the better the blade still a band saw will make will be a good investment./..thank ;;; Doug @ total custom builders phx,az
