Are you a "teenager" by any chance?  If so, you are a representative of our future, so do a good job of obtaining your education and jobs skill set, because we have leave it up to you teenagers to take care of yourselves and our world someday.  Your parents are not going to be there and provide for you as they do now.  Your "free pass" in most all cultures is for you to prepare yourself as I have described above.  You will be expected to become at least as good and productive as your parents, and you can do this with good effort and by staying out of trouble.  Good luck, Teenager!  p.s. work on that spelling also!

Millie, Do not count your chickens too soon!!! I am hopeful that they will rise to the occasion, however, from what evidence that I see, things are going to be questionable... Sorry to say.

I just returned from judging a beef competition at the school that I retired from 4 yrs. ago. It was like a breath of fresh air, I worked with kids that were serious, focused and motivated! I also saw a few that I had in class over the years, and was delighted to see some who had graduated from college, and have begun their careers. In fact, some who struggled in high school, good to see them come into their own! It gives one hope for the future.

It sure sounds like it to me... Lack of Family involvement was the one biggest hurdle in my experience with kids lack of success in school. Those good old values still are the best. When we had a problem with a teacher, it was the least of our worries, as our mom would tear us a new one! Easier (and safer) it was to do the right thing in school!

bustieone..yep am highly involved with their every move..yes I know that one that if we were ever bad at school..we had our parents` to account to...but I can`t be too tough on some that aren`t my own..and through no fault o their own are desp.trying to find their feet...I never thought I`d say it...but am very proud of the way they`re coping and what they are achieving!!

    Expensive,worrying nightmares!(And that`s on a good day)!;(..No..just kidding!:-0
