It's called a "run on" sentence. You have two separate and complete thoughts. It is hot. Put on sunblock. You separate the two thoughts as Dardaigh, making two separate sentences. You could also reconstruct:
Since the sun is hot, put on some sunblock.
The sun is hot; put on some sunblock.
Put on some sunblock because the sun is hot.
Put on some sunblock; the sun is hot.
The sun is hot, so put on some sunblock.
And so on. There are many ways to correct the run-on sentence.
