    Who can show me how to resolve this: An elevator moves at rate of -3.5 feet per second from a height of 100 feet above ground. it takes 4 seconds for the elevator to mke its first stop. hpw many feet above the ground is the elevator now?

    The elevator would be 86 feet above the ground. Its pretty simple all you have to do is times 3.5 by the number of seconds so in this case 4 which would equal 14 then you minus 14 from 100.

    Why do you minus 14 from 100 ? And she's talking about negative numbers, b/c she said --3.5
