http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York#Climate Every place here, except Long Beach and New York City, is considered "upstate". The record high temperature for NYS is 108 degrees F set in upstate Troy; the low was -52 degrees F, set at Mt. Marcy in the Adirondack Mountains of upper NYS.
