I have a 2000 Ford F-250 with a 7.3 desil 4X4 automatic transmission that sometimes will not go into Drive. It will always go in reverse, but after it is warmed up and you put in D it may not go. Reving the engine will sometimes cause it to engage but not allways. Any suguestions?

Take it to a tranny shop. They will assess it for free.

It sounds like an inhibitor switch. You don't wanna muck about with it tho.Take it to a transmission shop & get an opinion.Your local Ford dealer will diagnose it in a second also.
