i knew it had something to do with the sun, but i don't understand it...i can see my shadow when the sun projects it, plus from earth's pov the moon is in front of the sun and if it casts a shadow I should still see all the moon, no?
If fact, if you look very closely,you can see the outline of the full moon despite the shadowed portion.
