What does the -atr (ex. psychiatrist, or pediatric) mean?

I know that -ist means a specialist.

From iatreia , Latin, "healing, care"

I appreciate the response back. I'd messed up and left the "I" off of it. When listed as "-iatr/o," it came up as "treatment; physician." Thanks again.

    You are welcome, Argonyx.

pediatric, are working surgeons with sick children.

psychiatristric, I think it is spelt wrong, therefore it is a person who helps, people with mental problems.
