Many of my friends use iDealshare VideoGo to convert DVR to AVI.
Today, I just have a try and find it really works perfect.
It can convert DVR to AVI, MP4, WMV, MOV, 3GP, FLV, MKV, WTV, DV, RMVB, ASF, WebM, and etc video format.
It even convert DVR to MP3, WAV, M4A audio format.
More exciting, it features editing features like trim, merge, crop, increase audio volume, split, rotate and etc.
