    how can I keep avacados from getting over ripe?

    I need to make gauacamole at the end of the month, I have a ride to the grocery store on the 9th, how can I keep the avacados from rotting till I need them?

        They should be okay for such a distance but, refrigerate them once you get home. That is, considering they are ripe to begin with. If not, wrap them in a paper bag or newsprint and place in a dark place....

          My wife says always put the seed back in the half you don't use to stop them from going brown.


          And keep them in the 'fridge.
