From what I understand YLOD is a very bad thing. It's like a death knoll for your game system. To find out if you can transfer between the gaming units, try Playstation support > http://us.playstation.com/support/contact_options/index.htm

The YLOD is practically that its dead and ik how to transfer between gaming units. But is it possible to transfer while it suffers from YLOD?
