oh thats how it was given to me to figure out but i still came up with seven and wanted to make sure it was accurate. What would be the accurate way to write this problem. i would like to work on improving my math skills to help my grandsons with their math home work. thank you, Sincerely Deedee Funk

always do the multiplication first and the problem should have been written in the following manner
{6-(1X0)+2}/2 = 4 These are the fundamentals please.

Thank u very much that is the answer i got. Also a debate on it being the correct answer. Could you plz break down how you came up with that i tryed to explain to others the mathmatical order of operation and they kept telling me there are many answers and depends on how a person does the problem. I just want to make sure im clear and accurate on the explanation. thank you verfy much

Order of Operations...Multiply then Divide then Add then Subtract...the answer is 7. It should be written 6-(1x0)+(2/2)=

6 - (1 x 0) + 2 / 2

6 - 0 + 2/2

6 + 1

I don't really like the way this equation is posed because I would have thought the entire first part would be divided by 2 and came up with 4 as my initial best answer.

6-1x0+2 divided by 2 = ?

6 - (1 x 0) + 2 /2

6 - 0 + 2 /2

8 / 2

The order of operations is multiply, divide, add, subtract, in order of the presentation in the equation, unless you have ( ) or { } to set off operations.
